I am a Doctor of Public Health. I am also an architect (Licensed in India). Although an Environmental Health Professional by Degree, I aspire to be a Human Centered researcher for the built environment. In 2020, I graduated with an MS in Architecture from Texas A&M School of Architecture with a certificate in Health Systems & Design.
So, what have I researched?
Trauma-Informed Design of Emergency Centers; and User-centered Healthcare Environments,
Creating frameworks for Abuse Shelters, for women abused or with PTSD.
Urban Placemaking design and streetscapes for active living and transportation
Urban and Regional Economic Policy and Programs for mixed land-use communities
Safe Routes to School to promote active living for children.
Creating VR UX Environments to understand environmental perceptions.
Collaborated with different disciplines, to apply research evidence to create healthy, resilient cities and communities.
What do I want to do?
My passion is to actively combine Health, Design, and Research with equity, policy, and inclusion to contribute to making our environments and people healthier. As an early career researcher, I am seeking full-time opportunities to join organizations that focus on Health Design, Planning for health (urban and otherwise), and Research!
I am a researcher for the environment. I am an architect for the people. I work to create environments for all people, with empathy, and compassion.
I work to create spaces with a purpose, to improve well-being.
And as a researcher, I aspire to look at the process that bridges all three of the elements.
The purpose of my work is to create environments with a purpose, in addition to promoting holistic well-being for the people and the places around them.
“By far the greatest and most admirable form of wisdom is that needed to plan and beautify cities and human communities.” - Socrates
